The LEGO Group Selects NetDevil To Create Branded MMOG

Billund, Denmark – March 5, 2007

– The LEGO® Group today announced it has commenced a working relationship with NetDevil® to develop a massively multiplayer online gaming experience to further engage its dedicated and active community.
“As children around the world continue to spend more time online, we are developing new and engaging ways for them to interact with our brand,” said Lisbeth Valther Pallesen, Executive Vice President, Community, Education and Direct Division LEGO Group. “The LEGO brand represents construction, creativity and problem solving – values that complement the MMOG market. By merging the online world of social interaction with physical play, the LEGO brand is providing new experiences for children, as well as fans. NetDevil’s technological capability, openness to work with a large community, and enthusiasm for the LEGO brand make them a natural partner.”
“Playing with LEGO bricks and developing online worlds are both creative activities. To bring them together is deeply professionally satisfying and we look forward to working with the LEGO team,” said Scott Brown, president of NetDevil.

The Forge · 6th Time’s the Charm!

January 17, 2007

I just got done having the single worst customer service experience that I can recall having. Thank you so much, Bank of America.

Seriously. A(friggen)men

I am the type of person who would rather deal with shitty service than cancel something, because it’s easier to just not cancel. But BofA has to be the worst service I have ever known in my entire life.

I ended my account after a series of issues I had with them. Not a customer service issue so much, but something I considered shady.

Just after we had our son, we were struggling for money a bit. So from time to time, we would run short on money. And like many, I had a lot of automatic charges go through. Sometimes I would run a few bucks short. Not much, but a few bucks.

But BofA would switch around the order in which my charges were processed in order to maximise the damage the shortcoming would cause. Instead of bouncing 3 bucks, the largest payment would process first, then each following charge would bounce, rather than the one.

This happened a few times, and I blew it off as my bad. But then I started watching this. When I knew it was going to happen, I would screenshot the account I pulled up online.

Always, every single time. It would be pushed through in order to best maximise the damage. So rather than a 30 dollar overdraft charge, I was paying 400 dollars. Yeah, 400. One time, close too 800. This tends to cause a snowball effect that is hard to come out of.

After I noticed that it wasn’t just my bad, and they were really up to no good, I closed my account.

I had to go through about 3 people to cancel. The funny thing was you would think was bounced around in the name of retention. On the contrary, not only was I never asked WHY I was closing my account, but there was NO attempt to keep me as a customer at all. Not even a “sorry to see you go” type thing.

*****Read this if you don’t want to read me ramble above****

Go to Washington Mutual (If available)

Not only were they the nicest people I have ever worked with over the phone, I get all my services for free, and not a single bit of hassle. Ever. I couldn’t be happier to get rid of BofA.

FU Bank of America.

28 hours later, Warcraft gets its first Level 70 – Joystiq

January 17, 2007

I guess this is a big deal. But this isn’t much different than initial launch. It took 2 weeks, for their first max level to hit, or something like that. Where EQII took 2 months. I believe.

Whatever. Blah blah blah WoW.

Yup yup, and it kicked ass too. I started highschool in 91, the year they started putting this crap in our school. Part of this deal enabled the school to have all new computers and AV systems. So what if we are all fat slobs. I work in video games. Suck it.

January 12, 2007

To my experience, I doubt that the staff would even consider a difference between the location of the population on the server. The fact is, Europeans just complain a lot less about the activities of the other players on the server. Hence, less reports, and less bannings.

Interesting article, none the less.
